It was formed in 1974 as an association of toy trade associations from around the world. The purpose is not only focus on safe and human workplace environments for toy factory workers especially in China, Hong Kong and Macau, where the vast majority of the world’s toys are manufactured, but also the expansion is contemplated, over time, to all countries where toys are made.
